De-duplication makes a lot of sense of PCs where duplication is much more compared to servers. I have heard they are moving to servers soon.

Just $250K for two products and sales. A US startup would have consumed $5Million easily.

Two differences with existing technologies -
1. Unlike existing technologies, this product has multi-client or distributed approach towards de-duplication
2. It uses “linear finger-printing” against simple hash based approach to understand de-duplication better. The results are 200% better de-duplications compared to pure-disk and avamar.

Indian Entrepreneurial Challenge finally selected 3 companies. Druvaa was one of them :)
